This program supports experienced mechanics and LV-qualified tradespeople to transition into heavy plant roles and gain the qualifications or experience needed for a long-term mining career.

Successful applicants will have:
A Light Vehicle or Heavy Vehicle trade qualification (Certificate of Proficiency).
OR
Minimum 3 years post-trade experience working as a Plant Mechanic or on Plant Machinery & Equipment, ideally on a mine site.
Ability to provide evidence of your post-trade experience for RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) components.
Capacity to complete the required theory-based learning to finalise your trade upgrade through our Registered Training Organisation.
OR
Hold a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology and be seeking mine-site experience.
A career-minded attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the mining industry.

Once accepted, you’ll be employed directly by Titan Technicians and begin work immediately as an Upskill Plant Mechanic at a leading Hunter Valley mine site.
Depending on your experience, you’ll either complete your Mobile Plant trade through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), or be supported with any gap training required — all delivered through a trusted Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
We will do a pre-assessment of your current skills and experience to identify any Gap Training that may be required, this will determine the approximate time it will take to complete the Trade Upskill Program, this can vary from 6 – 24 months depending on the outcome of this assessment.
You will have an employment contract that secures your employment with Titan for up to 2 years giving you not only support but job security. The details of this will be discussed at your interview.
There is no cost to employees for completing the Titan Trade Up-skill Program.
Titan Group covers all training, including RPL and any required gap training, provided the program is completed under our training terms and conditions — saving you thousands in out-of-pocket costs.
Once you complete the Titan Trade Up-skill Program, you’ll receive your Certificate of Proficiency in either Mobile Plant Technology or Certificate IV in Engineering (Fixed and Mobile Plant). You’ll then meet with our team to discuss ongoing employment opportunities. To date, majority of our upskill applicants have continued full-time employment with Titan Technicians, progressing into long-term careers across Hunter Valley mine sites — including crew roles, permanent contracts, and even company vehicles.
